Jonathan Carpenter was born and raised in Tucson, AZ.  When Jonathan was ten, he recognized his need for a Savior and put his trust in Christ as his Savior. Growing up in Arizona, Jonathan ministered faithfully in his home church by playing piano for the worship services.  In the fall of 2010, he moved to Menomonee Falls, WI to attend college and seminary at Baptist College of Ministry and graduated with his Masters of Arts in 2017.

During High School, Jonathan actively participated in competitions and won numerous awards in ASTMA Merit Scholarship auditions as well as regional and national competitions. He completed the ASMTA ASP with three years of Superior with Honors results and earned the Arnold Bullock Scholarship.  In 2010, he performed Saint-Saens Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Civic Orchestra of Tucson as winner of their Young Artists Competition.  He currently performs regularly in South Asia and also enjoys performing chamber music with fellow teachers at BCM.

Although his ministry is music, Jonathan’s greatest desire with anyone that he works with is that they would love the Lord with their whole heart and serve Him. He sees music as a tool for creating opportunities with the students that go beyond music and extend to discipleship.  Since 2015, Jonathan has been on staff at BCM as a music professor and major accompanist. During his time there, he has also had the chance to spend significant time in South Asia teaching music and training music teachers as well as teaching ESL classes.

Jonathan loves to travel and explore new places and experiences. He has been to over ten different countries and counting! Also, he believes that it is hard to beat a good pour over coffee on a cold Wisconsin winter morning!
