Wayne Van Gelderen

Founder & President

Wayne Van Gelderen, Jr. has been the pastor of Falls Baptist Church for over 30 years. Under his leadership, several hundred members have been trained to serve the Lord and are involved in the church’s small group ministry. He also started Falls Baptist Academy High School and Baptist College of Ministry and Theological Seminary to train the next generation of laborers for the harvest fields.

Jim Van Gelderen

Vice President

Evangelist Jim Van Gelderen is a 1982 graduate of Bob Jones University. He also received an MA from BJU in 1984. Since 1984 he has traveled with the Minutemen Evangelistic Team. Jim and his wife, Rhonda, have three daughters. Dr. Jim loves ministry to teenagers and college students. In addition to his ministry with Minutemen Ministries, he also serves as VP of Baptist College of Ministry, a position which he has held since 1999.

Stephen Zempel

Vice President of Administration

Stephen Zempel graduated from Bob Jones University in 1999 with a BA in Pastoral Studies, and graduated from the Baptist College of Ministry Seminary in 2003 with an MA in Bible. Since 2003, he has served as administrator of Baptist College of Ministry with an intense focus on the transfer of spiritual leadership from generation to generation. Stephen and his wife, Elizabeth, have two sons.

Ken Shaver

Dean of Students

Pastor Ken Shaver went into the ministry at the age of 41, after a career as a Black Hawk helicopter pilot, air traffic controller, and international air traffic training manager. He went to Hopkinsville, Kentucky and started the Greater Cumberland Baptist Church. This church plant in the Fort Campbell area greatly impacted the military community there and much eternal fruit was reaped. After 18 years in his first pastorate, the Lord moved him and his wife, Robyn, to the Owensboro area to pastor Greater Vision Baptist Church. Pastor Shaver now serves as the director of Student life and Discipleship at BCM.

Daniel Van Gelderen

Director of Student Life and Advancement

Daniel J. Van Gelderen is an accomplished cellist, conductor, and composer. He and his wife Allyssa have a daughter and two sons. Because he loves helping young people find and follow God’s will for their lives, he enjoys leading the BCM Advancement team, as well as his other roles as professor and director of productions. He is passionate about training the next generation of young people to believe that God can use their lives to change the world.
