David Zempel was raised on a dairy farm in central Wisconsin. He graduated from Waupaca High School in 1972. Pastor Zempel and his wife Ruth Ann were married in June of 1976 after graduating from Maranatha Baptist Bible College.

Pastor Zempel has served as a youth pastor for 12 years; has been involved in Christian School administration for over 43 years; and has been a Pastor for 36 years. Pastor Zempel and his wife Ruth Ann have served the Lord in a thriving ministry in Martinsville, Indiana for the past 26 years where he has been the pastor of the Martinsville Baptist Tabernacle and Christian school.

In 2004 the Martinsville Baptist Tabernacle finished a new 500 seat auditorium and in 2008 they saw God restore their facility without incurring debt after a major flood left 7 feet of water in their lower level.

For 20 years Pastor Zempel has been privileged to teach college students courses on Romans, Church Administration, and Homiletics. He is also called upon to preach at mission conferences, new and struggling churches, youth rallies, and revival meetings. God has used Pastor Zempel and the Martinsville Baptist Tabernacle to help start numerous other churches.

Pastor Zempel serves on the Board of Trustees at Indiana Baptist Bible College; the cooperative board at Baptist College of Ministry; the Board of Trustees of BWM; and the board of directors at Shepherds Bethel Mission in southern Indiana.

David and Ruth Ann Zempel have three children; Stephen, Melody, and Merrylee.
